The distance problem.
Zimbabweans abroad send money home constantly, and a great deal of it goes into things that need watching — a house going up, a stand being bought, a borehole, a solar system, a family business finding its feet.
The money moves easily. The information does not. What comes back is photographs, phone calls and a relative’s best judgement, and none of that is evidence. So the decision to release the next payment gets made on trust, at four thousand miles, with no way to check.
Meanwhile there are hundreds of genuinely good providers in Zimbabwe who lose work to that same uncertainty, because a stranger abroad has no way to tell them apart from the operator who disappears with a deposit.
Both problems have the same fix, and it is not another directory. It is a curated way to find credible providers, and an independent way to check what matters — run by the same company, to one published standard, with a wall between the two.
Connected commercially, separated operationally.
Discovery and growth
Content, category design, provider recruitment, profile quality, buyer requests and provider analytics. Measured on liquidity — whether searches return useful options and whether providers get real value.
Client and assurance
Intake, risk triage, scope, assignment, quality assurance, report release and complaints. This side has independent authority over trust outcomes and is measured on evidence quality, not on revenue.
Field verification network
Trained, background-checked associates who establish presence and capture evidence to a defined protocol. Paid per assignment. Not paid on outcomes.
Registered professional panel
Pre-contracted engineers, architects, quantity surveyors, land surveyors and valuers, matched by discipline and geography, who give technical opinions under their own registrations.
The rule that holds it together. Nobody on the discovery side can influence a verification outcome, and nobody’s pay depends on a favourable finding. It is the least commercially convenient way to build this, and it is the only way it works.
The boundaries, stated up front.
- We will not represent verification as insurance against every project loss. We stand behind the competent performance of our own work; we do not guarantee a provider’s future conduct or workmanship.
- We will not certify work outside the assigned professional’s competence.
- We will not let advertising, subscriptions or agency purchases influence organic ranking or verification outcomes.
- We will not imply that a subscription buys a badge, an endorsement or a favourable review.
- We will not hold client project funds until a lawful, licensed structure exists and has been approved.
- We will not describe TARISA as a regulated professional where it is not one. We facilitate access to registered professionals; we do not replace them.
A closed pilot, deliberately.
We are running a combined pilot in Harare and the corridors around it, in construction, boreholes, solar and selected property services.
Verify is operating now and takes paid cases today. Discover is concierge-led — you describe the job, we come back with checked options — because we would rather learn how buyers actually describe their needs than guess and encode the guess into a search engine.
We are not opening categories we cannot fill, and we are not opening cities we cannot cover. Every search teaches us how to design a category. Every match teaches us what provider data matters. Every Verify case sharpens the method. That is the whole plan for the next ninety days, and we would rather do it properly than look bigger than we are.
